I started looking at types of landscapes that would compliment the character design I am trying to achieve. I really like the sort of, desert aesthetic with big monoliths and sandstone buildings but with the addition of lots of colour and pattern. The original design of my character was based on dragon elements so I thought a harsh, arid landscape would be fitting as dragons are associated with fire and warmth.
